Small section of Chapter 12 of my book

I walked in and class had already begun, in fact I was twenty minutes late. I took my seat and got my books out, knowing I wouldn't be able to concentrate anyway. I grabbed a pen and paper and began taking notes. That's when it happened.

Suddenly my eyes started to slide closed. My breathing started to become more rapid, my heart beating out of my chest, head spinning, ears buzzing...

I was standing behind the Devlocks. They were beating someone, the person was screaming in agony.

"Shut up boy!" One of the Devlocks yelled.

I tried to make my way through the Devlocks to see the person laying on the ground, but I couldn't move. I looked around to see where I was, it was the private soccer field behind the administrations building.

"Please! Please, leave me alone! I don't know anything!" The boy yelled.

"Shut up!" A huge crack echoed through the air as he back handed him.

"Why do you want me?" The boy cried.

"We don't." The Devlock informed.

"We want your friends!" Another one said.

I knew who the boy was, even before the Devlocks moved. They split into two groups, two on each side. I looked down at the ground horrified to see Sam laying there bruised and bleeding.

"Please!" Sam cried trying to move away from them.

One of the Devlocks leaned down toward Sam and looked directly in his eyes, like he had done with Marin. "She will come for you." He smiled darkly.

"Who will? I don't know who you're talking about." Sam pulled himself up as much as he could and squared his shoulders.

The Devlock slapped him, "Don't be stupid boy! You know who I speak of!"

"She won't come! She'll know it's a trap and she won't come!" His voice was becoming weaker by the second.

The Devlock leaned further down and placed his hands securely around Sam's neck, "You're dead either way boy!" And with that same gut wrenching cackle, he watched as Sam began to turn white as stone...

"Amanda!" Dominic yelled, "Amanda what did you see? What happened?"

I opened my eyes and it took a moment for me to put all the pieces of my vision together.

"Oh my God!"

I jumped up and started running as fast as I could. i made it out of the classroom, through the crowds of people walking along the sidewalks, passed the dorms. I kept praying that I would make it in time, administrations is on the other side of campus. i kept running as fast as my legs would carry me. But I knew it wouldn't be enough.

I could hear Dominic running behind me, but I couldn't turn around, I didn't have time to explain. I had to keep running. When I made it through the administrations building, I knew I only had a little ways to go. I pushed myself to go faster, I ran through the bushes that surrounded the soccer field, tripping over one of the branches, scrapping my arms and legs and smashing my head. I could feel the blood dripping off of me, but I couldn't feel the pain. I just kept running until i came to the center of the soccer field.
